Implementation of School Management Information System in High School State 5 Palopo

Abstract

The implementation of Management Information Systems (MIS) supports information management and school administration, but its implementation still faces system access disruptions. This study aims to determine the implementation of MIS and the factors causing server downtime at SMA Negeri 5 Palopo. The study used field research with a qualitative descriptive design and a case study approach. The study did not use a population and sample, but involved informants consisting of the principal, administrative staff, and teachers. The research instrument was the researcher with interview, observation, and documentation guidelines. Data were analyzed using interactive analysis through collection, condensation, data presentation, as well as drawing conclusions and verification. The results showed that MIS implementation was carried out through planning, organizing, leading, and controlling to support the management of grades, attendance, documentation, reporting, and school administration. Server downtime factors included hardware, software, brainware, data and system procedures, internet network, and electricity, with network and electricity disruptions most often related to system access disruptions. In conclusion, the sustainability of MIS requires integrated management of resources, systems, data, and supporting infrastructure.
