This research was motivated by the need for more targeted diploma verification to reduce reliance on manual confirmation and detect document changes. This study aims to develop and test a blockchain-based digital diploma verification prototype using SHA-256, smart contracts, and IPFS. The research is a prototype development using the Evolutionary Prototyping method. The test objects consist of 30 simulated diploma documents tested using identical documents, modified documents, diploma numbers, hashes, and CIDs. Instruments include SHA-256, IPFS, Solidity, Ethereum Sepolia, MetaMask, and a block explorer. Analysis was conducted functionally using black-box testing and descriptively analyzing processing time and gas fees. The results show that document changes produce different hashes, while identical documents produce matching hashes, with a 100% test scenario suitability rate. In conclusion, the prototype can support technical checks of integrity, registration, and transaction traceability, but does not yet prove the administrative validity of diplomas
